Raise Your Affinity
How Affinity works in Oz Chat, how to deepen your relationship with characters through chats and gifts, and how Affinity affects their reactions.

Affinity is a key stat that represents how deep your relationship with a character is. As Affinity changes, so does the distance between you and the way the character tends to react.
If Level is the growth stat that shows "how much you've played," Affinity is the one that shows "what kind of relationship you have." If you want to enjoy chatting with your favorite character for a long time, we recommend growing Affinity and Memory together.
Affinity basics
- Affinity is tracked separately for each character.
- Affinity ranges from -100% to 100%.
- Chats and gifts can raise or lower Affinity.
- The higher your Affinity, the more intimate your relationship with the character becomes.
- When Affinity is low, the character may act distant or wary.
How to raise Affinity
| Method | Tips |
|---|---|
| Chat | Listen to what they say, and show agreement and gratitude |
| Give gifts | Choose gifts that suit the character's tastes and the situation |
| Use Memory | Have them remember nicknames, your relationship, promises, and so on |
| Match the Situation Card | Choose a Situation Card that fits the mood you want |
Gifts are an easy way to shift Affinity. However, if you keep doing things that don't fit the flow of the conversation or the character's personality, the relationship may not turn out the way you hoped.
Tips for raising Affinity through chat
1. Acknowledge their reactions
Responding to what the character said with your thoughts or a question helps keep the conversation going.
That was a little unexpected. But I like that side of you, too.2. Don't rush the relationship
If you suddenly close the distance when you've barely met, the character may be taken aback. It feels more natural to build the relationship little by little over many conversations.
3. Save important promises in Memory
Save the details you want to carry forward — like "next time we'll watch a movie together" or "call me by my name" — in Memory.
When Affinity goes down
Affinity doesn't only go up. Topics the character dislikes, forcing the story along, or gifts that don't fit the context of the conversation can all lower Affinity.
You can also play in a way that lowers Affinity on purpose, but if it's dropping unintentionally, check the following:
- Are you ignoring the character's replies?
- Are you forcing developments that strongly contradict the character's personality?
- Are there outdated or conflicting details left in Memory?
- Does the conversation match the Situation Card?
